Recognition.
Durable change starts the moment an old way of seeing becomes impossible to keep using — not the moment someone hears good advice. A Recognition Event is distinguished from ordinary insight by permanence: the old frame doesn't get supplemented, it becomes insufficient and has to reorganize.
This is the actual unit of durable change in the framework — not information delivered, not advice given, but the specific moment an old way of seeing becomes impossible to keep using. It's also the generator with the least public-facing content on the site so far, despite being the hinge the rest of the causal chain turns on.
Demonstrated through two live cards already published inside the Contributor Identity article, both showing the same pattern: recognizing capability that was already present, not acquiring new capability.

Expertise is pattern recognition, not calculation. Source: Gary Klein, Recognition-Primed Decision research.

The Recognition Engine's situational-mode prompts function as this generator's live assessment: choosing the statement that matches a current felt tension routes to a matching Discovery, which is itself a recognition event in miniature. This is a functional connection, not yet a formally validated measurement instrument — stated plainly rather than overclaimed.
The weekly report-back ritual already built into the coaching structure exists specifically to surface these events out loud, whether or not anyone in the room calls them Recognition Events. On-demand mid-week coaching is, functionally, an attempt to catch a stuck moment before it repeats another cycle without one.
